Creative Writing Minor
Students receiving a minor in Creative Writing will successfully complete at least six CRWR courses in a staged sequence (introduction, intermediate, and advanced courses and, for some students, two sections of the yearlong intensive Kidd Tutorial Program sequence).
Alongside major degrees in English or History, Romance Languages or Psychology, a minor in Creative Writing will signal students’ expertise in written expression and imaginative thinking no matter what field they enter after graduation. For those interested in pursuing an MFA in Creative Writing, the CRWR Minor will offer a significant credential of their focused study in poetry, fiction, and/or nonfiction in the undergraduate curriculum.
In order to be eligible for the Minor, students must complete all degree requirements and a major in another academic department.
Submit your degree worksheet and a copy of your transcript (at least one term prior to term of graduation) for evaluation to the Creative Writing Program office.
As of Fall 2010, students may declare the minor in Creative Writing and fulfill its requirements with CRWR courses taken previously.
