Kidd Tutorial Program
A yearlong sequence of courses for undergraduates in creative writing, intellectual inquiry, and craft-based research.
Students in the Kidd Tutorial Program enjoy a unique studio experience that emphasizes literary analysis in both poetry and prose fiction, craft-related topics of concern to the college-level creative writer, and an engagement with the rigorous critical discourse we foster and expect in our Creative Writing curriculum at the University of Oregon.
Admission to the Kidd Tutorial is by application only. All students admitted to the Kidd Tutorial who receive financial assistance from the University of Oregon will be awarded scholarships for their participation in the program. (Awards have averaged from $1,200–$3,000 the last three years.*)
There are no prerequisites for the Kidd Tutorial, and all eligible students who are interested in Creative Writing at the University of Oregon, regardless of major or academic background, are encouraged to apply.
*Financial awards are determined based on University guidelines, not those of the Creative Writing Program. [Note: Post-bac undergraduates are not eligible for program scholarships.]
