Brian’s fiction and essays have appeared in or are forthcoming in Gettysburg Review, the Sun, Narrative, Ninth Letter, Black Warrior Review, MELUS, New Ohio Review, Brevity, and other places. His essay “My City in Two Dog Parks” was listed as Notable in Best American Essays 2013 and anthologized in Rust Belt Chic: A Cincinnati Anthology.

Honors & Awards

He has received a Taft Fellowship from the University of Cincinnati, a fellowship from the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts, and was a Borchardt Scholar at the Sewanee Writer’s Conference. A former associate editor of the Cincinnati Review, he is currently fiction editor of Memorious: A Journal of New Verse and Fiction.
