Wayne Harrison’s first novel, The Spark and the Drive, was published by St. Martin’s Press.

His short stories have appeared in The Atlantic, Narrative Magazine, McSweeney’s, Ploughshares, Crazyhorse,, The Sun, New Letters, Columbia: A Journal of Literature and Art, Five Chapters, and other journals.

His book reviews appear in The San Francisco Chronicle and The Miami Herald.

Honors & Awards
“Least Resistance” was featured on NPR’s All Things Considered and reprinted in Best American Short Stories 2010.
“Charity” was a Notable Story in Best American Short Stories 2009.
“Rip-Off” received Special Mention in Pushcart Prizes 2012.

Wayne has received a Maytag Fellowship, an Oregon Literary Fellowship, and a Fishtrap Fellowship. His short story collection Wrench was a finalist for the Iowa Book Award, the Serena McDonald Kennedy Award, and the Spokane Prize.

He also teaches writing at Oregon State University and with the UCLA Writers’ Extension.
